The Big Finish

Like a cat that won’t die, the Fast franchise is back with its 9th life and still doesn’t seem like there is an end in sight. Just when you thought there was nowhere they could take it, the latest effort says hold my Corona and takes it all the way to outer space! Of course there’s an abundance of unbelievable stunts that could not actually happen or anyone could live through. It was weird to make up the fact that Dom had a long lost rogue brother just to make another movie. There were some good ideas that were explained from that plot point however. Such as with all of the flashbacks why Dom is such a great racer, why he knows so much about cars and why family is so important to him. This film provides a lot of insulting of the viewers intelligence that leads to a very predictable outcome. Even with that this is still a fun watch that is entertaining throughout. I could also appreciate the Tokyo Drift crossover. I don’t know where this movie ranks in the Fast saga but this never ending story definitely makes its mark fitting right in with the family.
