The Big Finish

It’s Compton in the house! I have seen my fair share of coach parents but Richard Williams unwavering faith and confidence in his childeren is unmatched. Sorry Lavar Ball. This film captures the life of Venus and Serena in a very magnetic way through their rise to superstardom amongst the ranks of tennis. Will Smith did a good job portraying as he had the walk and the accent down. His charisma often carries this film and still gave fans a few jokes for old time sake. The best parts of the movie for me I think really showcased how much Richard stood up for his girls even if it meant putting his own life in jeopardy. Also I admired how Richard put academics and just being a kid at times over rigorous training. Not without flaws, Richard’s poor behavior is touched on too. Such as him being very problematic to work with as well as his staggering relationships with his wife and other childeren. One can have all the talent in the world but it is humbleness and hard work that really takes one or two to iconic status.
